The latest Samuel Heath bathroom range
01/01/07
Fairfield is the latest range of high-end brassware taps; showers and accessories designed for Samuel Heath by studio sda.
“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”
These are the words of William Morris, a designer and writer from the late 19th century cultural and artistic era now celebrated as the Arts and Crafts movement. This formed the focal point of Fairfield. From conception to completion the design required the functional, user-friendly design that lacked a hundred years ago, but is prevalent today and then communicated through the classic elegance of a now rare style.
Utilising new and emerging technologies, the functional inadequacies of the 19th century are easily overcome by studio
sda, both in the user-friendly design and manufacturing process, making Fairfield a pleasure to own and experience.
The tap and shower collection includes a dual control, thermostatic shower, as well as a wide choice of concealed thermostatic showers that offer multiple outlets to allow the ultimate in design flexibility. There’s a single lever mixer and deck and wall mounted fillers in the selection of basins. The bath options are either deck or wall mounted bath/shower mixers with the options of standpipes for free standing baths.
The design process of the Fairfield range embodies a design ethic that questions the emerging whims and gimmicks of the present climate where the proliferation of what is novelty and obscure often unwittingly misses the point.
